My Spiritual Journey |

First let me say that I have been on a spiritual journey to Oneness since I came into this world. I have always felt the hand of God/Spirit in and on my life. I have tried many different jobs and paths over the years but nothing fulfills and nourishes me more than the work I do when God is using me as his/her divine instrument. Nothing surpasses the times when I know that God is living as me.
Now, a little about this awesome journey. After high school I received my undergraduate degree in Special Education. Two years later I obtained my Masters in Social Work. I spent the next ten years working in a variety of business settings like consulting firms, non-profits, and IBM. But it was not until, two children later, and in my mid thirties, that I stopped resisting the call to the ministry. In 1986, I began attending Howard University School of Divinity and completed my Masters in Divinity in 1991. It was at Howard that I finally felt at home and really began a deeper searching and seeking for my purpose.
However, even after becoming an ordained minister and fulfilling that role, I still did not want to totally turn my entire professional life over to God. For the next seventeen years, I continued my dance of moving in and out of the business world. I did this because I honestly could not see how I could support myself financially. In addition, I had no clear vision on how my gifts could be used by God to fulfill my uniquely divine, sacred purpose—which did not include working in a church.
It was not until I completed my first book of meditations— Consumed by Your Fire of Love—that I could hear God’s voice saying “now is the time.” Now is the time to walk totally and completely into your purpose without any safety nets, without relying on your education, talents or connections. I could hear God saying “all I want you to do is rely completely on me, to trust me and go about doing your purpose for which I created you.”
Also during this wonderful time when my book was being completed, I was reading an incredible book by Lance Secretan, Inspire which invited the reader to explore their destiny, cause and calling. Once I completed the book and the exercises, I knew what to do next and began developing my website and my new life. Below are my sacred destiny, cause and calling. I include them because you can not truly know me, if you don’t know what I am all about. Most importantly, I include them because I hope they give you some insights into why I am here in your life and how I may be of service to you and to the world.
Sacred Destiny: To awaken sacred oneness and divinity in the world through the Spiritual Disciplines. Personal Cause: To live a joyful, abundant life of service, peace and love. Corporate Cause: To support others in living a joyful, abundant life of service, peace and love. Calling: To inspire passion and purpose through teaching, coaching and writing.
